Students Garner Foundation Scholarships
September 12, 2008 — Earle Mack School of Law students received two of three scholarships awarded at the annual conference of the International Association of Korean Lawyers on Sept 12 and 13.
The Dr. Shin Woong-Shik Scholarship went to 2L Helen Park, and the IAKL Foundation Scholarship was awarded to 3L Emma Reynolds.
The students were selected for the scholarships based on their commitment to the Korean American and Asian/Pacific Islander communities.
Park plans to concentrate her studies in Business and Entrepreneurship Law, with the aim of pursuing a career in international business.
Reynolds hopes to become a public defender.
Both students said they are sensitive to the language barriers that put solid legal representation out of reach for some people in the U.S.
