April 27, 2012 —
Professor Karl Okamoto will present “Using Online Law Meets Technology for Teaching Transactional Lawyering” at the 2012 Transactional Clinical Conference on April 28 in Los Angeles.
Director of the school’s Business and Entrepreneurial Law Program and founder of LawMeets, Okamoto in 2010 launched the Transactional Lawyering Meet, which was the first competition to test the skills of aspiring deal-makers the way that mock trials and moot court measure trial and appellate advocacy skills.
Okamoto will discuss the use of online videos as a tool for helping students polish their skills in transactional lawyering.
An expert in corporate, venture capital, private equity and securities law and corporate finance, Professor Okamoto uses sophisticated empirical methods to investigate the most difficult problems in contemporary corporate law. He has also developed path-breaking approaches to teaching transactional lawyering.
