2012-13 Spring Registration

Introduction to Course Registration

Online Registration Dates:
Third-year students priority day:
Monday, October 15, 12:15 PM – 11:59 PM

All Continuing Students:
Wednesday, October 17, 12:15 PM through Sunday, January 13, 2013 (Note there may be some breaks in registration during this period for billing and scholarship adjustment. We will update this page.)

During these times, students may drop or add classes themselves on DrexelOne on a space-available basis.

Students must obtain permission from Prof. Clare Coleman to make schedule changes after the open Add/Drop period has ended, beginning Monday, January 14, 2013. Permission will only be granted with good cause. Students permitted to drop a course after the second week of classes will receive a grade of “W” (withdrawal). No courses may be added after the second week of classes.

Students who fall below 9 total credits are not considered full-time students in residence and may no longer be eligible for scholarships or financial aid. The maximum amount of credits a student may register for is 15. Students must seek permission from Dean Filler to take 16 credits.

If a course is full, students can put themselves on a waitlist for that particular course by selecting the waitlist option in Banner. The process is described in the Registration Instructions. Waitlists will be purged at the end of the first week of classes. Students who are added to a waitlist are not guaranteed to be registered for that course, so students should sign up for other courses to complete their course schedules. Waitlist eligibility does not override other registration restrictions.

In advance of registration, students are invited to attend (or view online) any general advising presentations offered, as well as consult with their faculty advisor. Additionally, third-year students may want to schedule an appointment with OSA to ensure that all requirements are being satisfied in preparation for graduation.

Finally, the following individuals are available to discuss aspects (as noted) of the course planning and registration process:

Theresa Gallo (theresa.gallo@drexel.edu): registration process; waitlist and course registration assistance; program requirements

Clare Coleman (clare.keefe.coleman@drexel.edu): academic advising; program requirements; course withdrawal

Dean Filler (daniel.m.filler@drexel.edu): program requirements; permissions; academic advising

Faculty advisor or Concentration director: academic and personal advising

FIRST-YEAR ELECTIVE REGISTRATION

A menu of four elective courses is available to first-year students for the Spring 2013 Semester. Students will indicate their preferences for course selection via an online survey which will be open from 1:00 PM on Monday, October 22, 2012 through 11:59 PM the same day.

Students will be placed into elective courses on the basis of their preferences and the timestamp on their selection submissions. Students may not take the survey twice. While we aim to place students into their first or second choice, course demand may prohibit this, and there is no guarantee.

Students will be informed of their registration by Thursday, October 25. Students who do not participate in the online survey (i.e., do not indicate a preference) by 11:59 PM on October 22, 2012 will be placed into courses with remaining seats.
